Welcome to a Sustainable Mediterranean Agro-Food System

FRUALGAE : Sustainable technologies and methodologies to improve quality and extend product shelf life in the Mediterranean agro-food supply chain valorizing biomaterials from marine organisms (microalgae).

The project

FRUTALAGE aspires to reduce food loss and waste (FLW) by providing science and engineering solutions while simultaneously investing in capacity building directed at multiple actors across the agro-food chain to “feed knowledge” and establish the basis for sustainable food security.



In order to carry out the project, the consortium of 1 company (Greece) and 1 research centre (Portugal) and 6 Universities (Egypt, Germany, Greece, Italy, Lebanon) has been created.
